Letter from the President

Sept 15 may seem far away, but will be here soon! That date is significant because it’s the “early bird” deadline for the PRemier Awards.

The PRemier Awards are the annual award program hosted by the Public Relations Society of America Northeast Wisconsin chapter, and I encourage you to apply.

What’s in it for you? PRemier Awards are a great way to earn accolades reflecting your success, which can then be shared on your LinkedIn page and resume. Talking about your own work doesn’t always come off well, but sharing that your project won an award is much easier.  Submitting an award application can become a valuable source of feedback from other PR professionals. And it’s a fitting channel to honor the work done for your company, department, or team.

Information about the PRemier Awards is found here. I encourage you to think about projects you’ve done in the last year that might be a good fit, and start preparing applications!

Award judging is done by the PRSA Dayton, Ohio chapter, and award criteria is drawn from the Accreditation in Public Relations (APR) Study Guide. A helpful video about submitting a PRemier Award entry is found here. If you have questions about applying, email the Awards Committee at prsanewawards@gmail.com.

Creating an award entry takes time, so I encourage you to go onto the website, learn about the award entry process, and start planning.

“The future is always beginning now.”  ~Mark Strand

Best wishes on a successful award entry!

 ~ Angela Brumm

President, PRSA Northeast Wisconsin
